TMO Procures 11.5 Million Tons of Grains

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has purchased 11.5 million tons of grains in a season where harvest has reached 93%, disbursing over 33 billion Turkish Liras to producers.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, announced that the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has made a total of 11.5 million tons of grain purchases. While the harvest process has reached 93%, wheat formed the majority of the purchased products, with barley making up the remainder.
TMO reported that 33 billion 71 million Turkish Liras have been paid to producers to date. In the 2023 period, the institution had transferred a total of 101 billion Turkish Liras in product value to producers in exchange for 13.1 million tons of grain purchases.
