The harvest season for traditional apple varieties, which ripen in the unique microclimate of Sivas's Gürün district, has begun. Producers are engaged in intensive work in their orchards to gather regional types such as Hünkar, Ayvaniye, Sarısultan, and Şah, known for their large and juicy texture.
Emphasizing that traditional fruit types are critical for preserving the local gene pool and passing on agricultural heritage to future generations, the Sivas Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry made the following statement:
