Tick Eradication Campaign Launched in Refahiye
The 2026 spraying operations, conducted to protect cattle and small ruminants against ticks across Erzincan, have begun in Ekecik village, Refahiye district. The field applications, realized with the financing of the Erzincan Provincial Special Administration, were attended by Erzincan Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Alper Koçaker and Refahiye Provincial General Assembly Member Tacettin Çiftçioğlu. Officials noted that the spraying carried out within the scope of the project directly supports producers in the region and ensures herd health.
CCHF Risks and Contact Warnings
The aim of the ongoing parasite control is to limit tick populations and minimize the risk of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever. The Erzincan Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry requested regular checks of livestock in pastures and uninterrupted control of detected pests. The institution warned breeders against touching ticks on animals with bare hands and advised them to avoid contact with animal blood and body fluids.
