The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has opened its barley stocks for sale to livestock breeders and feed manufacturers to ensure market stability and increase the supply of feed raw materials.
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced that it has started selling barley from its stocks as part of the 2026/27 sales season, effective September 17, 2026. In a statement, TMO indicated that the sales would initially be directed towards large and small-scale cattle and sheep breeders, as well as feed factories. Details regarding the process can be obtained from TMO business units. Officials from the institution explained the primary rationale behind the sales decision with the following words:

Barley sales, aimed at meeting the raw material needs of the feed sector, were implemented starting September 17, 2026. This ensures earlier access to feed raw materials for breeders.
The institution's statement noted that the 2026 harvest has been completed, providing a strong supply to meet domestic consumption with record production levels. It was reported that the high yield was reflected in purchases, with a significant amount of product acquired from producers. Stating that market developments will be monitored, the Turkish Grain Board outlined its future strategy as follows:
