Mayer Lemon Harvest to Begin September 11

The first calendar for the citrus season in the Mediterranean has been set; harvesting of the Mayer lemon variety will commence on September 11, with exports starting on September 21.
The Citrus Harvest and Export Dates Determination Commission, coordinated by the Central Mediterranean Customs and Foreign Trade Regional Directorate, has announced the harvest calendar for the 2026 lemon season. Following inspections in orchards within the region, it was determined that the Mayer lemon variety has reached maturity; September 11, 2026, has been finalized for harvesting, and September 21, 2026, for the commencement of exports.
It was noted that the Enterdonat lemon variety has not yet reached the desired maturity level. The commission will convene again on September 11, 2026, to re-evaluate the harvesting and export dates for Enterdonat lemons.
