Migros Opens Pesticide Analysis for Fruits and Vegetables to Public Access

Migros has made pesticide analysis results for its fruit and vegetable products directly accessible to consumers through its digital application, enhancing transparency in the supply chain from farm to table.

Migros, enhancing food safety practices in its farm-to-table supply chain, has begun sharing pesticide control analysis results for its fruit and vegetable products with the public via Migros Virtual Market. Consumers can directly and transparently access these analysis reports from the product description tabs on the mobile application. The company continuously conducts risk-assessment-based controls through authorized laboratories approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK).

Within Migros, regular pesticide analyses are performed on approximately 20,000 fruit and vegetable products each year. At the specialized laboratory established by the company in Antalya Kocayatak, a total of 600 different active substances are screened in fruits and vegetables.

Ekmel Baydur, Member of the Migros Group Marketing Executive Committee, made the following statements regarding the audit processes and transparency steps undertaken:

The chain market, steadfastly maintaining its quality approach at its distribution centers, inspects approximately 3.8 million food and non-food products annually against 223 different parameters. The institution meticulously controls its suppliers according to international quality standards and provides regular free training to producers in the field on food safety, hygiene, quality, and sustainability.
