Joint Food Inspections by Police and Agriculture Teams in Niğde

In a large-scale operation coordinated by the agriculture and security forces in Niğde, food businesses producing counterfeit and adulterated products were put under scrutiny.
Comprehensive inspections were carried out across Niğde within the scope of the Food Safety-1 Operation, launched in coordination with the General Directorate of Food and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior. During the joint field operations held between September 1-30, 2026, authorized food control officers serving within the Niğde Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Niğde Provincial Police Department teams descended on the field in coordination. Numerous food businesses operating in the province were scrutinized by the teams.
In the official controls conducted, it was examined in detail whether the businesses were producing and selling in accordance with the standards of the current food legislation. Inspection teams meticulously checked agricultural food products suspected of being fake, counterfeit, and adulterated, which directly threaten the health and economic interests of consumers. While the teams evaluated the physical conditions of the businesses and product labels, detected non-compliance issues were recorded, and examinations were carried out on samples.
Official proceedings were initiated in accordance with the provisions of the relevant law against businesses found to be operating in violation of current legal regulations during the controls. In the information provided by the authorities, it was stated that these inspections would not be limited to a specific period and that controls would continue with determination to prevent unfair gains. It was noted that administrative sanctions against businesses that disregard consumer health would continue to be applied uncompromisingly within the framework of the legislation.
The inspection mechanism, carried out to ensure the safety of food products offered to the market and to protect consumer rights, constitutes a critical guarantee for public health. Thanks to the cooperation model implemented in Niğde, the safety of the food chain, from production to consumption, is guaranteed. Officials announced that official control and follow-up activities targeting food businesses throughout the province will continue uninterrupted to ensure citizens' access to safe and standard-compliant food.
