Price Gap Widens in Grape Harvest Kicking Off in İslahiye

As the harvest of Hatun Parmağı and Antep Karası grapes begins in İslahiye district of Gaziantep, the product price jumps from 20 TL in the field to up to 80 TL in supermarkets.
The harvest of Hatun Parmağı and Antep Karası grapes, which are utilized for table consumption as well as for making molasses, pestil (fruit leather), and raisins, has begun in İslahiye district of Gaziantep. An average yield of 3 tons per decare is being achieved in the region's vineyards.
While the kilogram of grapes is purchased from producers at 20 TL in the field, their selling prices on supermarket shelves range between 60 and 80 TL. The harvest activities in the region are projected to continue for about a month.
