TÜRKŞEKER Launches Beet Procurement Campaign at Susurluk Factory

TÜRKŞEKER's Susurluk Sugar Factory has opened its 72nd beet procurement campaign for the 2026-2027 period, aiming to process 695,000 tons of beets and produce 85,000 tons of sugar.

Susurluk Sugar Factory, operating under Türkiye Şeker Fabrikaları A.Ş. (TÜRKŞEKER), launched its 72nd beet procurement campaign for the 2026-2027 period on Friday, October 2, 2026, with a ceremony. The opening event held at the factory premises was attended by Factory Manager Yavuz Karaduman, Beet Growers Cooperative Chairman Hasan Karahasanoğlu, Şeker-İş Union Susurluk Branch Chairman Yavuz Gürsoy, unit managers, and regional producers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Susurluk Sugar Factory Manager Yavuz Karaduman made an assessment regarding the campaign period:

According to the corporate targets shared by Karaduman, 695,000 tons of sugar beet will be processed at the factory during the campaign. From this raw material, approximately 85,000 tons of crystal sugar, 32,000 tons of molasses, and 200,000 tons of wet beet pulp, which is critical for the livestock sector, are planned to be produced.

Factory Manager Karaduman also touched upon the new infrastructures established in line with the 2026 investments. Through the operational Big-Bag Packaging Facility, 30,000 tons of the 85,000 tons of sugar to be produced will be packaged in one-ton bags. The Slag Separation Facility, which will operate during the campaign period, will provide recovery and create savings in the factory's fuel expenses. Following the wishes of Beet Growers Cooperative Chairman Hasan Karahasanoğlu and Şeker-İş Branch Chairman Yavuz Gürsoy, gifts were presented to the first five producers delivering beets to the factory, and the first beet procurement was made with the opening of the weighbridge.
