Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for Many Regions by Meteorology

The General Directorate of Meteorology warned farmers and citizens against heavy rainfall, local hail, and flash floods expected in a large part of Turkey.

According to the latest assessments shared by the General Directorate of Meteorology, thunderstorms with showers will be effective in a wide area of Turkey. Rainfall is expected in eastern Marmara, Southern and Inner Aegean, the Mediterranean, Inner Anatolia, and nearly all of the Black Sea. Additionally, intermittent shower transitions will be observed in the western parts of Adana, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, and Hatay. Producers and citizens are urged to closely monitor weather conditions due to the system that will affect a large geography, especially agricultural areas.

According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, rainfall is predicted to intensify locally in the Inner Aegean, western Inner Anatolia, the inner parts of the Western Black Sea, and the Lakes Region. Sudden rainfall intensity is expected in Muğla, western Antalya, Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Amasya, and Çorum environs. Authorities are drawing attention to the danger of floods, flash floods, lightning, and small-scale hail due to the expected heavy rainfall. It is of great importance to take precautions without delay against water overflows that may occur in fields and open areas.

While rainfall is observed in the eastern part of the Marmara Region, it has been reported that showers will increase in Istanbul in the morning hours and the highest temperature will be 25 degrees Celsius. In the Aegean Region, Muğla, Uşak, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, and Denizli will receive locally heavy rainfall, while İzmir will remain partly cloudy. In Inner Anatolia, showers will intensify in the western parts, especially in Ankara and Eskişehir. In the Black Sea line, the environs of Sinop, Samsun, and Ordu are among the centers expected to be most affected by the rainfall.

In the Eastern Anatolia Region, strong winds will be effective rather than rainfall, with wind speeds from southerly directions expected to reach 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. In Southeastern Anatolia, the weather will be partly cloudy with little cloud cover, while thermometers in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa will rise up to 35 degrees Celsius. The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that temperatures will be around seasonal norms in most regions, while above seasonal norms in the east.
