Burdur Receives Grant Support for 6 Modern Irrigation Projects

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will provide a total grant of 1 million 827 thousand Turkish Liras to farmers in Burdur who switch to water-saving irrigation systems.

Grant programs implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to protect water resources and prevent losses in agricultural production continue. According to the data from the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, all 6 projects prepared within the scope of 2026 Water-Saving Agricultural Irrigation Systems support have been approved across the province. Within the framework of this program, which aims to accelerate the transition of producers to modern irrigation infrastructure, a total of 1,827,130 TL in direct grants will be transferred to farmers.

Grant agreements for the implementation of the approved projects were officially signed with the eligible farmers with the participation of Burdur Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Eyüp Adıgüzel. The supported works include the installation of 2 sprinkler irrigation systems, 1 drip irrigation system, 2 systems for both sprinkler and drip irrigation, and 1 linear irrigation system. These systems, planned in accordance with different agricultural production patterns, aim to directly increase water efficiency in the field.

Officials from the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry stated that the efficient use of water is critically important for the sustainability of agricultural production and the protection of natural resources. With the widespread adoption of water-saving irrigation systems, losses due to evaporation and seepage in the field will be minimized. The institution noted that grants and technical support for producers who prefer modern methods that save water will continue uninterrupted in the coming period.
