· AA Tarım & Ekonomi

With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, insurance notification processes in licensed warehouses have been tightened, while the criteria for determining warehouse fee tariffs have been reorganized.
The Regulation Amending the Licensed Warehousing of Agricultural Products Regulation, prepared by the Ministry, has been officially published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect. According to the new regulation, insurance companies will act swiftly in case of any situation that leads to the termination of insurance contracts within the scope of the system. Furthermore, in case of any change in the insurance amounts related to the coverage in the policies, the relevant company has been obliged to immediately notify the Ministry and the licensed warehouse operator.
Licensed warehouse fee tariffs will become valid from the date of publication in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette with the approval of the Ministry. The tariff will be updated annually in January at the rate of the average of the annual producer and consumer price indices announced by TÜİK. The Ministry will retain the authority to reduce this increase rate by up to half. For businesses storing products other than grains, pulses, and oilseeds, tariff updates at different rates can be made up to twice a year, depending on market conditions.
