Wheeled-walking robots developed by DEEP Robotics have taken over harvest logistics in the vineyards of Turfan, a region with challenging climate conditions, reducing labor needs by 70%.

Robot Dogs Begin Work in Vineyards

Wheeled-walking robots named Lynx M20S, developed by Chinese technology company DEEP Robotics, have started to be used in commercial grape vineyards in Turfan. According to information reported by AgroExpert, the robots, deployed in a region where ground surface temperatures exceed 50 degrees Celsius in the summer, undertake a critical role in transporting harvested produce. The system, which delivers grape baskets cut by workers to collection points rather than directly picking bunches, has reduced manual labor in transport operations by over 70% according to DEEP Robotics data. The devices also successfully perform tasks such as carrying irrigation hoses and collecting real-time data from the fields.

High Carrying Performance in Challenging Conditions

The risk of grapes losing water and quality due to high temperatures in Turfan, causing them to remain under the sun, is minimized with robotic transport support. According to technical data shared by DEEP Robotics, the Lynx M20S model has a carrying capacity of up to 35 kilograms and can operate continuously in temperature ranges between minus 30 and plus 50 degrees Celsius. With its hybrid structure of wheels and legs, the robot can easily overcome gravel, slopes, and shallow channels, providing smooth transport by navigating through narrow vineyard rows 50 centimeters wide without maneuvering.
