60,000 Juvenile Carp Released into Beyşehir Ponds

As part of a project by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 60,000 carp fry were released into ponds in the Beyşehir district of Konya to strengthen the aquatic ecosystem and support fisheries.

Carp Stocking for Beyşehir Ponds

Within the scope of the "Stocking of Water Resources" Project, carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a significant initiative was undertaken in the Beyşehir district of Konya. Teams from the Beyşehir District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry released a total of 60,000 juvenile carp into various ponds located in the district. This fish stocking activity aims to strengthen the aquatic ecosystem in Beyşehir Lake and its surrounding ponds. While the objective is to support fish stocks, which have been damaged by various factors, with scientific methods, the effort will directly contribute to the sustainability of commercial and recreational fishing activities in the region.

Call for Conservation for Sustainable Fisheries

It was stated that the juvenile fish released into the ponds must be meticulously protected for the fish stocking program to achieve its intended success. In the official statement made by the Beyşehir District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, it was noted that allowing the released carp fry to reproduce at least once is vital for them to form a population. Officials appealed to fishermen and the local community in the region, urging strict adherence to fishing seasons, minimum catch size limits, and fishing bans. The initiative aims to bring long-term prosperity to the fisheries sector in the region.
