Feeder Cattle Import Applications to Begin October 5

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that applications for the import of 480,000 feeder cattle, planned for 2027, will be accepted between October 5-16.
The General Directorate of Livestock (HAYGEM) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has launched the 2027 feeder cattle import process. Applications can be submitted to Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry between October 5-16, 2026. According to HAYGEM data, a total of 480,000 head are planned for import in 2027; 380,000 head have been allocated to operations with a barn capacity of 200 head and above, while 100,000 head have been allocated to operations with a capacity below 200 head.
According to the statement from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, operations applying must have a minimum capacity of 30 head. Additionally, operations must be registered in the TÜRKVET system on or before September 25, 2025, and have had animal movement in the last year. Operations with a capacity of less than 200 head are required to provide a TÜKETBİR certificate.
