Agricultural Chambers Warn Farmers of December 31st Deadline for ÇKS Registration

With the authority to process Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) applications granted to agricultural chambers in 46 provinces through a protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Union of Chambers of Turkish Agricultural Engineers (TZOB), producers have been warned of the December 31st deadline to avoid losing their subsidy rights.

A New Era in ÇKS Applications

Within the scope of the protocol signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Union of Chambers of Turkish Agricultural Engineers (TZOB), Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) applications began on September 1st. Cuma Yiğit, Chairman of the Şehitkamil Agricultural Chamber, stated that agricultural chambers in 46 provinces across Turkey, including Gaziantep, have been granted the authority to process ÇKS registrations, and made the following statement:

'The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Union of Chambers of Turkish Agricultural Engineers have entered into a protocol, granting the agricultural chambers of 46 provinces the authority to conduct ÇKS registrations. Our aim is to simplify the process for our farmers. In previous years, producers had to go to district agriculture directorates with their files; now, they can come to their chamber to complete their registration.'

Prerequisite for Benefiting from Subsidies

Reminding producers that system registrations are mandatory to benefit from agricultural subsidy payments and grant programs, Cuma Yiğit emphasized that applications should not be left to the last day. Stating that applications will continue until December 31st, Şehitkamil Agricultural Chamber Chairman Cuma Yiğit issued the following call:

'We urge our producers to complete their registrations by December 31st and not to leave it to the last day. If they do not complete their registrations, they will not be able to benefit from our ministry's projects and subsidies.'

Highlighting the financial losses that could result from delayed registrations, Şehitkamil Agricultural Chamber Chairman Cuma Yiğit continued his remarks:

'ÇKS not only records the farmer's produce but also allows them to benefit from the subsidies and projects provided by our ministry. It is an application that is like medicine to our farmers. However, producers who do not complete their registration will be unable to benefit from the subsidies and projects offered for one year. Therefore, to avoid hardship, they should update their information and complete their registrations. These places are their homes; they should come and have a cup of tea and coffee with us.'

Disaster Damages and Payments

Şehitkamil Agricultural Chamber Chairman Cuma Yiğit also touched upon the damage payments made to producers following natural disasters in the region, stating that the process is being closely monitored. Cuma Yiğit explained the process, saying that damage assessments in the field were completed rapidly:

'Due to global warming, we experienced a natural phenomenon this year that we call a supercell. Many farmers' crops were damaged. After the disaster, teams went to the field to assess the damage, our General Chairman Şemsi Bayraktar came, took his report, and conveyed it to our President. As a result, payments were made to the farmers' accounts. Each farmer received a payment according to their damage.'
