6 Billion Tenge Import for Dairy Farming
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the country plans to import 5,000 Holstein-Friesian cattle from Germany by the end of the year to strengthen its milk production capacity. This purchase of cattle, valued at approximately 6 billion tenge, was decided during high-level bilateral talks held in Astana. Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Talasbek Kanafin, and Germany's Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Martina Engelhardt-Kopf, comprehensively discussed steps to deepen livestock cooperation between the two countries.

Bilateral Agricultural Trade and Joint Projects
Cooperation in dairy farming between the two countries is supported by on-site training through the KFM project. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, over 400 specialists have received professional development support within the framework of the joint project, and a specialized consulting center for milk producers has been established. Ministry data indicates that the trade volume of agricultural and food products between the two countries increased by 23% in 2025, and Kazakhstan's agricultural exports grew by 38%. In the period of January-August 2026, mutual agricultural trade volume saw an increase of 11.6%.

Sixth Phase in Agricultural Policy Dialogue
A new phase has begun in the Agricultural Policy Dialogue platform, which has been ongoing between Kazakhstan and Germany since 2009. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Talasbek Kanafin announced that the sixth phase of the platform officially commenced in September 2026. The new working period aims to improve agricultural policies across Central Asia, advance the processing of agricultural products, and foster joint investments in seed production and agricultural machinery.
