The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry imposed a total administrative fine of 186.5 million lira on businesses that failed to comply with regulations during food inspections conducted throughout August.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues its nationwide inspections without interruption to ensure access to safe food and prevent unfair competition in the sector. According to Ministry data, a total of 100,128 official inspections were carried out in food businesses across the country between August 1-31.

While administrative fines totaling 186.5 million lira were imposed on businesses found to be in violation of regulations, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı made the following statement evaluating the inspection results:

"While 186.5 million lira in fines were applied to businesses where non-compliance was detected, we filed criminal complaints against 49 businesses. While protecting the rights of our honest tradespeople who do their jobs properly, our fight against those who adulterate our citizens' food will continue with determination."
