Bonito Season for Small-Scale Fishermen to Begin on August 15

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that the bonito and torik fishing season for small-scale fishermen using driftnets has been brought forward by 15 days.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has brought forward the bonito and torik fishing season by 15 days for coastal fishermen. With the decision taken, the new fishing period for small-scale fishermen using driftnets will officially begin as of August 15.
In his statement on his social media account, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, included the following remarks:
"We are bringing the season forward by 15 days for our small-scale fishermen who earn their living with driftnets in bonito and torik fishing, starting it as of August 15. May God grant our fishermen abundant sustenance and their nets abundance."
