According to the October retail price index data announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), significant price movements were recorded for a large portion of the products in the consumer basket in the metropolis. ITO data revealed that prices increased for 231 out of 336 main products examined, while prices declined for 29 products. Sharp fluctuations, particularly in fresh fruits and vegetables, which closely concern the agricultural and food markets, directly impacted household budgets and the cost balance on market stalls.

Cucumber and Vegetables Lead Price Hikes

This was followed by tomatoes with a 36.98% increase, pointed peppers with 27.15%, charliston peppers with 26%, zucchini with 22.55%, and stuffing peppers with 21.31%.
