Chicken Egg Production Increased by 17% in July

According to TurkStat data, chicken egg production increased by 17.2% year-on-year to 1.9 billion units in July 2026, while broiler meat production saw an 8.4% monthly rise.

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), chicken egg production increased by 17.2% in the July 2026 period compared to the same month of the previous year. Production, which was 1 billion 624 million 550 thousand units in July of last year, reached 1 billion 904 million 42 thousand units with an increase of 279 million 492 thousand units. On a monthly basis, a 3.5% increase was recorded in July from the June level of 1 billion 838 million 966 thousand units.

According to the data announced by TurkStat, the upward trend in egg production continued unabated in the first seven months of the year. Production, which was 11 billion 55 million 866 thousand units in the January-July period of last year, increased by 18.4% to 13 billion 88 million 637 thousand units in the same period of 2026. The total increase in seven months was 2 billion 32 million 771 thousand units, indicating that the production capacity in the poultry sector remained strong.

In the July 2026 period, broiler meat production increased by 5.5% year-on-year to 251,861 tons. A net increase of 13,162 tons was achieved in one year from the production of 238,699 tons in July of last year. On a monthly basis, a significant rise of 8.4% was observed from the June level of 232,238 tons. In the first seven months of the year, broiler meat production increased from 1 million 603 thousand 658 tons to 1 million 621 thousand 395 tons.

The number of broiler chickens slaughtered in July increased by 1.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 133,407,000 heads. It was reported that there was an increase of 2 million 319 thousand heads compared to the 131 million 88 thousand slaughters in July 2025. In the January-July period, the number of broiler chickens slaughtered increased from 857,682,000 to 868,994,000 heads, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%. It was announced that the percentage changes in the TurkStat table were calculated based on rounded figures.
