Chinese dairy company New Hope Dairy has taken a notable step by partnering with Norwegian animal breeding cooperative Geno. The two organizations are offering milk from Norwegian Red crossbreeds to consumers in the premium segment. The product, developed under the name 'Norwegian Red Cow Fresh Milk', was launched on April 29, 2025. Marketed for its high fat and protein content, the fresh milk is sold via cold chain in select stores and major e-commerce channels.

Yield Advantages of the Norwegian Red Breed

According to Geno, the red-and-white spotted Norwegian Red, with an average weight of 610 kilograms, combines high milk yield with strong health characteristics. During the breed's development process, fertility, easy calving, udder health, and disease resistance parameters are prioritized. Geno officials state that using long-lived and resilient animals in herd management reduces treatment costs for farmers. This genetic collaboration also lowers herd replacement costs.
