First Rosehip Harvest Takes Place in Uşak

The first rosehip harvest has been carried out in a trial garden established with grant support in Uşak, where a yield of 1 ton per decare is targeted by the fifth year.

Within the scope of the Rosehip Production Development Project, carried out by the Uşak Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, 100 Yıldız variety rosehip saplings were planted on a 1-decare land belonging to producer Mehmet Koçyiğit in Merkez Eğlence Village in November 2024, with 75% grant support. In the September 2026 harvest, the second year after planting, approximately 30 kilograms of product were obtained, and the collected rosehips were evaluated by being made into marmalade.

According to the authorities' projections, the yield per decare is expected to exceed 1 ton when the saplings reach their 5th year. The project aims to popularize alternative and value-added products in the region that offer high income potential.
