Limited Decline in UKON Data
According to weekly data compiled from slaughterhouses and processing plants by the National Red Meat Council (UKON) as of September 4, 2026, the average lean beef carcass price across Turkey fell to TL588.44/kg. In the same period, the lean lamb carcass price was recorded at TL627.29/kg. UKON data indicates a limited decrease of approximately TL2 in both beef and lamb carcass prices compared to the previous week. Producers and red meat market players continue to closely monitor weekly price changes.
Different Trends in Regional Markets
Despite the national average decline, a different price scenario has emerged in local unions and exchanges. The Bursa Cattle Breeders Association announced a new tariff for its members, increasing cow, heifer, and calf carcass prices by TL20 per kilogram. According to Ankara Commodity Exchange data, on September 5, beef carcass traded at TL631/kg and lamb carcass at TL796/kg. These figures announced by the slaughtering organizations indicate that the regional price gap in the market is being maintained.
